Independence Pass

Class 3

8 miles RT, Total gain: 3,533′ – 7h06m

Great hike in the Sawatch Mountains with Erin, Michael MacGillivray, and Ozzy Dog. The scrambling was slightly more involved than expected, but Ozzy was more than eager for the challenge. On the hike down from the last peak he jumped and sprained his paw*, resulting in him being snugly stowed into my pack for the hike out. My favorite comment from a runner passing me: “Dude, there’s something on you’re back!”

*Confirmed by a Veterinarian and now back to his old self.
